Shipley Eastern Link Road

The Shipley Eastern Link Road is one of the priority projects within the Airedale Masterplan and is seen as a key catalyst for regeneration of the area.

This project to build a new road link between Otley Road, Leeds Road and Canal road will unlock employment land around Dockfield Road and Shipley East and create further development opportunities, as well as reducing congestion through Shipley.

Aims:
  • To provide traffic relief on the congested Otley Road around the town centre
  • To provide further traffic relief on Leeds Road to the east of the town centre
  • To unlock large amounts of employment land and create opportunities for further regeneration and development
  • To create opportunities to reallocate road space for cyclists, pedestrians and bus priority measures
  • To reconnect the town centre to the railway station
